From cake slice to wood planks for Lets Craft Together Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Let's Craft Together Blog Hop! This months theme is a Photo Inspiration Challenge. Thanks Michele for a great hop theme.

I have created a 'wood panel' inspired card using a CAKE stamp! Let me explain how I did it, but first lets check out the inspiration pic below for what lead me to this crazy idea.
Here's the challenge picture as set out by Michele. I'm loving ALL the colours and the vertical wood planks in browns in grey tones.

Now lets take a closer look at my card. I knew I wanted wood panels and little or no flowers but how to achieve lookalike wood without an obvious stamp or designer paper? The answer came in the form of a cake slice .. from Cake Fancy. Stamped in all the colours - Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Pecan Pie and Gray Granite - I love it!

Finished with the postcard stamp and sentiment from Stamped With Love and a pretty bow in the new ribbon and colour Basic Beige!
For the inside some simple stamping with the new Online Exclusive  - Elements of Text (my new favourite background images) the teeny leaf image is from Cake Fancy
I love using stamps in a new and different way - I think its my special skill! Its fun.
What other images can you see in these sets?

For You Wildflower Birthday DSP for Lets Craft Together Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Let's Craft Together Blog Hop! Can you believe its February ALREADY? This months theme is a Sketch challenge. Have you noticed the last few catalogues have a variety of sketches to help you craft with?  I'm loving the helpful sketches - they really do help me break out of my comfort zone and if I'm feeling stuck for an idea, I have somewhere I can go to easily. Check out page 12 of the latest mini catalogue for lots of new inspiration.

So I've created this fun, bright birthday card using the new Designer Series paper in the Wildflower Birthday Suite. The DSP pack contains gorgeous floral patterns, laced with accents of gold, but also has x2 sheets of pre printed pre die cut images. Such a great way to showcase even more coordinating images that would make any project shine.

The coordinating stamp set and bundle is definitely a must have, with 'just the right size' number dies included.
Here's the challenge picture, can you spot my inspiration sketch?

Lets take an even closer look at this card design. The pre printed pre cut flowers made creating this card easy and I knew no matter which flowers I picked - it was going to coordinate and look great.
For the inside, I've used a thin strip of DSP and another pre printed image.

Attention Shoppers it time to Celebrate with Lets Craft Together Blog Hop!

Welcome back to another Let's Craft Together Blog Hop December Edition! This is the last blog hop of the year and this month is a Theme Challenge. Lets get stuck in, I have a lot to show you...

I have created a super fun card using the champagne bottle from 'Attention Shoppers' (Stamp set & Bundle). I have tied this card to the theme by highlighting champagne bottles and thru the sentiments 'Here's to beautiful beginnings' 'congratulations'

Here's the challenge picture.
Now, lets take a closer look at this card. You'll see a number of bottles stamped onto the front panel, well New Years is a celebratory time, I'm sure there will be a number of empty champagne bottles at my place this year! I want to show you how I have created this look...
This style card can be made by repeat stamping any image, the images in this stamp set are perfect for the Masking technique.
I began by repeat random stamping the champagne bottle in Memento Black ink onto a sheet of Basic White.  The next step was to stamp & fussy cut multiple bottles onto post-it note paper (I should have got some more Adhesive sheets in my last order!) Stick them over the top of ALL your bottles
I then added some colour (Blueberry Bushel) with a blending brush, and finally added some splatters with my Stampin Blend in the same colour. Tap your Stampin' Blend against the cap, hit hard or soft to create different size splatters.
Remove all the post it notes, and the bottles are left white - ready for more colour. I have shaded my bottles like Veuve Clicquot, using Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight. The sentiments (front & inside) are both from 'Something Fancy' (SS)
The inside follows the same theme and techniques as the front, the only difference is the colouring is slightly different to the bottles here.
Be sure to continue on the hop below!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hopefully I have inspired your creativity. I love reading your comments, be sure to leave me a quick hello below!

Its a Christmas Colour Challenge - Lets Craft Together Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Let's Craft Together Blog Hop! This months theme is a Christmas Colour Challenge. At first glance I wasnt sure how I was going to make the colours work, but I reached for my Decorative Tree Dies and created my most favourite christmas card yet!

I have created a layer of trees in Pretty Peacock, Cherry Cobbler and Moody Mauve.
What makes these trees POP - the Metallic Gold layer over the top definately elevates them to the next level. I've opted for a 'no sentiment' front instead making you zoom in on the gorgeous trees and their detail.
Here's the challenge picture, thanks Monique for such a great colour combo!
Lets take a closer look at this card.
I used the same Snowflake detailed die for each tree but only raised the middle tree (Cherry Cobbler) with foam dimensionals.
As I didn't add a sentiment to the front of the card I definitely added one to the inside.
This bundle has been one of the best Christmas sets I've ever owned, I have made a variety of cards with it in a few short weeks and have tonnes more ideas for it. Grab a bundle and take advantage of the extra 10% discount while its still available.
Be sure to continue on the hop below!

The Country Birdhouse is blooming for Cheryl's Chain Card Swap

Welcome to the Chain Card Swap Blog Hop! This hop is all about Cheryl and the CASES of her card. I encourage you to start the hop at Cheryls blog and follow along to see the progression of her card through the group. Its so interesting to see the development!

I was 8th in the chain for Round 10 and have created a over-flowering Bird House using items from the Country Woods Suite.

Here's is the card I CASE'd from Sharni. What a great colour combination, i'd almost forgotten we carry Silver & Gold Foil cardstock! I'am also loving Sharni's bouquet, its very full and has all the element with stamped elements, die cut foliage in different colours and some beautiful ribbon too.
Lets take a closer look at this card. You can barely see the birdhouse underneath, but that was intentional. I wanted to create a heavily blooming house and used MANY if not all the small dies from the Country Birdhouse dies set in a variety of colours - Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Petal Pink, Coastal Cabana & Mossy Meadow. The background DSP is from Country Woods DSP - there are so many wonderful wood looking panels.
The inside carries the theme, if you have some left over die cuts they're perfect for adding them here
A great bundle and stamp set with some large and small images that fit great together.
